resourcing church
At a Commissioning Service on Sunday 25th November 2018 we officially became one of two resourcing churches in the Diocese of Worcester (along with Top Church Dudley). This redesignation and a significant investment of funding from the Church Commissioners Strategic Development Fund enables us to play a particular role in the diocese, city and region.
You can read about the Commissioning Service in the press release here.
In the first ten months of 2023, the following spending has enabled us to serve the diocese, city and region:
£147,000 on people who bring life to the diocese’s worshipping communities
£466,000 on the place where Christians have gathered for centuries, St Helen’s on the High St
£25,000 on the plant to St Peter’s Bengeworth
Resourcing churches exist across the Church of England as part a strategic initiative to see the church renewed and revitalized. All resourcing churches are seeking to do three things in partnership with their Diocesan Bishop:
plant new churches
revitalize existing churches
equip and encourage local churches through training events and ministry teams
